Manon Whittlesey is a an artist living in Bowdoinham, Maine. Her work is driven by interaction with landscape, rural or urban, from the micro to the macro. Mediums include watercolor, printmaking, installation and design. Each project is an exploration of place and process, observation and synthesis.
Artiste vivant dans le Maine, son travail explore l’interaction humaine avec les paysages. Utilisant l’aquarelle, la linographie, l’installation et le design, elle joue avec les matériaux et la couleur pour mieux exprimer une experience d’un lieu.
Manon graduated from Tufts University and Boston School of Museum of Fine Arts, where she earned a BA in Anthropology and a BFA. While at the Museum school Manon worked as a teaching assistant to the “Art as Process'‘ class, an experience that has continued to inform her work. Teaching is an instrumental part of her practice. She has worked at Spindleworks intermittently since 2012, and is currently
Program Coordinator at Spindleworks Gardiner.

Manon a obtenue sa license d’arts appliqués au Boston School of Museum of Fine Arts, ainsi qu’une licence en Anthropologie a Tufts University. Pendant son séjour dans ces écoles elle est devenue assistante dans un cours qui travaille le processus créatif . L’enseignement s’est installé comme centre de sa pratique. After college Manon continued to expand her skills at Creapole, ESDI, in Paris. She earned a Masters’ degree in Visual communication doing a work-study with Logic Design branding agency. Love of food, pattern and design continue to influence and shape her work. Since moving to Maine in 2006, Manon has worked with many local food producers and restaurants to define their brand and build a strong visual identity through logo and communication design.
Manon continues to explore the intersection of art and design, while sharing her love of the creative process through teaching and mentoring.
